Dental Service – FAQ’s

This is a difficult question to answer as it depends on the treatment that is required for you. The best way to find out exactly how much your treatment will cost is to come in and have a comprehensive examination and consult. This may be covered partially or completely depending on your private health insurance status. Often a small x-ray may need to be taken for proper diagnosis. After a thorough examination we will be able to give you your options and a full quotation, which you may be able to present to your health fund.

We accept all health funds. We are also BUPA, Medibank Private, NIB and CBHS network providers. We also accept NSW Oral Health Fee For Service Vouchers.

This depends not only on the insurance company you have selected, but also what level of cover you have opted for. For some health funds, we are able to give you an on-the-spot quotation with our HICAPS terminal. For others we cannot. We can provide you a written treatment plan, which you can furnish to your health fund for the most accurate quotation.

We do not provide gap-free dental treatment but as we are preferred providers for certain health funds, often many patients belonging to those funds receive gap-free dental check ups and x-rays, subject to their private health insurance policy

We accept cash and card payments (Visa, Mastercard, Eftpos). There is a transaction surcharge for American Express, but not for the other modalities.

This is a difficult question to answer unfortunately. Like anything to do with your body and health, no absolute guarantees can be placed. The best thing you can do for your teeth is to brush them regularly, floss and have them professionally checked by a dentist at least twice a year. That way any complications can be addressed before they escalate.

An x-ray is almost always required for a proper diagnosis and is essential prior to any tooth extraction. This is because x-rays will often show us infections occurring underneath the gums, or any unusual anatomy or pathology.

As early as possible! The earlier they get used to the sights and sounds of the dental clinic, the more accustomed and comfortable they will get when they get on the dental chair.

COVID 19 UPDATE

Fantastic news for everyone – as vaccination rates have hit major milestones in Australia,  and the Australian Health Authorities and Australian Dental Association have lifted the grand majority of restrictions to dental treatment as of the 11th October 2021.

This means that all procedures can be safely performed, including routine dental treatment at Marsfield Dental Care from then onwards.

We will continue to implement our additional safety measures and precautions, including but not limited to thorough patient screening, social distancing in our reception area and additional personal protective equipment where advised. Rest assured our excellent infection control protocols will continue to be maintained as always. We look forward to seeing you again – book now to avoid the end-of-year rush!
